Jesus Is Enough

Jesus Is Enough

By Apostle Felix

5  We don’t preach ourselves, but rather the lordship of Jesus Christ, for we are your servants for Jesus’ sake.
6  For God, who said, “Let brilliant light shine out of darkness,” is the one who has cascaded his light into us—the brilliant dawning light of the glorious knowledge of God as we gaze into the face of Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 4: 5, 6

I have been writing the devotionals for the past two years, if not more. It is a decision I made after the Lord by His Spirit inspired me on the revelation of Christ, according to Matthew 16: 18. It was an encounter that made me to see the scripture through the lens of Christ. It was like I was reading the Bible for the first time and the Word of God came alive. However, I have observed something interesting, especially the way people respond to the message of Christ differently. Some are excited about it, but others are somehow resistant to it. The gospel of Christ, normally challenges one’s belief system.

39  “You are busy analyzing the Scriptures, frantically poring over them in hopes of gaining eternal life. Everything you read points to me,
40  yet you still refuse to come to me so I can give you the life you’re looking for—eternal life!

John 5: 39, 40

The word of God has a bias, and the bias of the Bible is Christ. If you read the Bible and draw something else apart from Christ, then you have read wrongly. It doesn’t matter whether what you drew from the Bible is working for you or not. If it is not Christ, it is not the revelation of God. The scriptures you are reading should lead you to Christ. The problem is not the scripture, but the reader of the scriptures. Some find motivational talk in scripture. For some, they find generational curses and the list goes on.

There is nothing wrong with motivational talks but we should not confuse it for the gospel. The gospel is the message of Christ, and is exclusive to Christ. Apostle Paul said in Romans 1: 16, that he was not ashamed of the gospel of Christ because it is the power of Christ unto salvation. The gospel of Christ leads to salvation in Christ. The gospel of Christ is the message that is preached to have Christ formed in people’s life. Motivational talk is for motivating people to do more, and make the people to be passionate about the dreams and visions. So, anyone can motivate. Oprah Winfrey can give a motivational talk and the people can be can motivated for real. But she cannot preach the gospel. It is not possible for one, who is not born of God to preach the gospel of Christ.

3  Therefore, I want to impart to you an understanding of the following: No one speaking by the Spirit of God would ever say, “Jesus is the accursed one.” No one can say, “Jesus is the Lord Yahweh,” unless the Holy Spirit is speaking through him.

1 Corinthians 12: 3

The scripture above is informing us about the impossibility for anyone not born of God to declare the Lordship of Jesus. It is something that can only be done by the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God in man only reveals Christ in and through man. The Holy Spirit reveals Christ Jesus and who we are in Christ. The only Person the Holy Spirit excavates from the scriptures is Christ, not your earthly father’s curses. He dealt with the curse once and for all. He has regenerated you and brought you into His lineage of the blessing.

13  Yet, Christ paid the full price to set us free from the curse of the law. He absorbed it completely as he became a curse in our place. For it is written: “Everyone who is hung upon a tree is doubly cursed.”
14  Jesus, our Messiah, was cursed in our place and in so doing, dissolved the curse from our lives, so that all the blessings of Abraham can be poured out upon even non-Jewish believers. And now God gives us the promise of the wonderful Holy Spirit who lives within us when we believe in him.

Galatians 3: 13, 14

It is not the knowledge of curses that sets free, but the knowledge of the truth. The truth is Christ. It is the knowing of the truth that sets man free. Freedom comes when truth arrives. Jesus is the answer.
