I am Grateful

10  For God, the Faithful One, is not unfair. How can he forget the work you have done for him? He remembers the love you demonstrate as you continually serve his beloved ones for the glory of his name. 

Hebrews 6: 10

Today is our last day of 2025. We can all look back into the year that is ending tonight at midnight, and be grateful to the Lord for all He has done for us. Our God is faithful, who does not forget the work we have done for Him. Men are quick to forget the good done for them, and yet quick to remember the bad done to them. Man can forget all the good that has been done over one unfortunate incidence. Our God is a good God, who does good things for His children. The Bible tells us that all good things are from the Lord.

17  Every gift God freely gives us is good and perfect, streaming down from the Father of lights, who shines from the heavens with no hidden shadow or darkness and is never subject to change.

James 1: 17

It doesn’t matter how the year was, our God remains unchangeable. Probably, you had undesirable moments in 2025, but that does not change the truth that our God is good, and does not change. There is no circumstance strong enough to change God’s character. His character remains stable in all circumstances. Sometimes, we can have experiences that can contradict God’s character. That does not mean that God has failed us, or He has forgotten about us. No, even in that situation God remains good and faithful, fulfilling His word concerning us. This is the reason why apostle Paul urged the Thessalonians to give thanks in all circumstances.

18  And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God’s perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus. 

1 Thessalonians 5: 18

Giving thanks to God in all circumstances is a demonstration of faith in God’s amazing grace. You are simply saying, God I believe in You, than the situation at hand. It is an expression of unrelenting faith in the finished work of Christ. In other words, you are saying, I refuse to believe what the enemy is trying to convince me to believe. Storms are designed to convince man to doubt the integrity of God’s word. The disciples with Jesus in the boat, doubted what Jesus claimed He was when the storm rose on the sea.

8  So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always. 

Philippians 4: 8

As we conclude the year tonight, fasten your mind on the goodness of the Lord and give Him thanks for all. If you are a child of God, born of His Word and Spirit, then you have every reason to give Him thanks. Even if you have been saved for years, you still need to be thankful to Him for saving and sustaining you all this years. Thank God for your dear family, regardless of some seemingly misunderstandings. Thank God for every provision in 2025. Thank God for the protection the Lord offered over your life. Thank Him for every word of God you received this year. Thank God the blessing and favour He has poured upon you. So many, many things to thank God for. A BLESSED NEW YEAR, 2026!
