Free from the Curse

FREE FROM THE CURSE

By Apostle Felix

11  But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

12  And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

13  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

14  That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Galatians 3: 11 – 14

The fall of man, Adam and Eve, invoked a curse in the realm of humanity. Initially, man was free from the curse and operated under the blessing of God. The naming of animals is a proof that man operated under the blessing of God. The work of naming animals was a huge responsibility, but yet Adam did it with easiness. Just imagine, one man naming all the animals, birds and fishes. It took divine ability to accomplish such a feat. The blessing enables man to produce maximally in every area of endeavour. The fall brought struggling due to a curse. Man had to work extra harder to produce, and have enough for his sustenance. Since the fall, man has been labouring under a curse.

4  Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

5  And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

Luke 5: 4, 5

The disciples laboured the whole night yet without a catch. They spent hours upon hours throwing their nets into the water hoping to at least catch something that they could take home. But all to no avail. It was a very disappointing business night. Jesus showed up that morning when they were cleaning their nets so that they could retire home with nothing. The men were demoralized and discouraged. Jesus appeared at a time when fishermen retire, to go and rest. It was not a time for fishing. However, Jesus was operating under the blessing that can produce anytime and anywhere. He then asked the men to cast their nets into the deep regardless. When they did so, there was a catch that defied all what they knew about fishing. Their nets even started breaking under the weight of so many fishes they caught that day. Of course, Peter realized that was not normal at all, ran to Jesus and called Him Lord. Lord means owner. Jesus exercised Lordship over the fish. The blessing upon Jesus was commanding dominion upon all the created things. He had total dominion because of the blessing.

3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Ephesians 1: 3

The same blessing that was on Jesus is now on you. You have been blessed in Christ. You cannot carry both, the blessing and a curse. The blessing is superior to a curse. The two cannot co-exist. If you are born of God, then you are blessed to the core. The problem with man is that we want to identify ourselves with the former life. You are born in the family of God, which is a blessed family. It is impossible for you to be cursed when Christ is in you and you are in Christ.

28  For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

Acts 17: 28

You cannot be with Jesus and then you are struggling under a curse. You are free from the curse the day the Lord came to live in your life.
