FOUR LEGS OF INNOVATION

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. We need equipping, emerging, envisaging and enhancing in order to shift ideas from intangible to tangible.

EQUIP

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Ephesians 4: 12

Equip is the preparation of an individual for a particular task. Equipping helps with the effective working of systems. The parts in the systems should be well defined and delegated for them to be productive.

EMERGE

Vision without visibility will die without ever changing or impacting any life. A vision needs visibility. Emerge is to move out from and become. It’s the ability to step out from the comfort zone into the unknown. It requires boldness and courage. David stepped out from the comfort zone into the valley to face Goliath. His visibility came about because he was courageous enough to do what everyone could not do.

ENVISAGE

It takes faith to pursue your purpose. The attitude of seeing possibility. David saw possibility, while his brothers and the entire army saw impossibility. Pessimism is an enemy of innovation. You cannot be overly negative and expect to be innovative. Pessimism kills dreams. Envisage is the ability to paint positive mental pictures of your vision. David painted a picture of victory before he killed Goliath.

ENHANCE

Vision needs momentum. You need to forget past victories and focus on what is ahead. This is the reason why you need to continue leveraging your life by continuous training and envisioning. Intensify in training (building capacity), improving the quality of your leadership skills, and increasing your passion for what you do.
