Expansion Through Evangelism
By Apostle Felix
6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.Acts 1: 6 – 8
Jesus’ mission to Earth was not political; rather, He came to restore the kingdom of God. In contrast, Israel expected a Messiah who would politically restore their nation to the former glory it held during King David’s era. While Israel’s focus remained introverted and confined to its own national interests, God’s true plan was much larger. God did not call Abraham for Israel’s sake alone; He blessed him so that he would ultimately become a blessing to all the nations of the Earth.
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
Genesis 12: 2
18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
Genesis 22: 18
4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;
Genesis 26: 4
God blessed Abraham so that he could bless the nations, and this blessing was never about owning cars, land, or earthly riches. Although Abraham did accumulate material wealth, this was not God’s ultimate intention for him. Instead, the true blessing God promised was Jesus Christ, who would be born through Abraham’s lineage to bring salvation to mankind. While people often relegate God’s blessing to material possessions, from God’s perspective, the ultimate blessing is the gift of human salvation through Christ Jesus.
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.Galatians 3: 13, 14
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, which in a scriptural context is not defined by financial lack or singlehood. When we mistake a curse for a lack of material possessions, we indirectly imply that the wealthy are automatically blessed regardless of their spiritual status. To be clear, this does not mean endorsing poverty or lack; rather, it highlights that the true biblical curse is humanity’s spiritual separation from God. Because a curse is defined by the absence of a relationship with God, the ultimate blessing is the restoration of that relationship. As the Apostle Paul explains in verse 14, the blessing of Abraham came upon the Gentiles through Jesus Christ, and that blessing is salvation.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?Romans 10: 12 – 14
God possesses an infinite treasure to lavish upon everyone who calls upon Him, and this true treasure is the gift of salvation—not material wealth, cars, or earthly riches. Because of this, it is absolutely imperative to preach the gospel to all people. As the Apostle Paul emphasised, the masses cannot believe in someone they have never heard of, and they cannot hear the message unless someone is sent to preach it. Proclaiming the gospel is the essential prerequisite that enables people to call upon God for deliverance; consequently, if the church fails to preach, multitudes are bound to perish in their sins. The ultimate blessing God has offered humanity is salvation through Christ, and the church has been strictly mandated to declare this truth to the world.
