Excellency of the Knowledge of Christ Part 4

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death. Philippians 3:10

Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ. Philippians 3: 8

The excellency of the knowledge of Christ stands above all else. The apostle Paul regarded all other things as of less importance as compared to the knowledge of Christ. Paul was a well educated man in the law of Moses and had many accolades to his name. Yet, he considered all the accolades as dung. The superiority of the knowledge of Christ is seen in it’s ability to set the captives free. No man who lives in the light of knowledge of Christ can ever be in bondage.

The excellency of the knowledge of Christ has the inherent power to set the captives free and keep them free. The freedom that we have in Christ is the reality of salvation by grace through faith. Grace is God’s power working in the transformation of man’s total being. It is not by human effort but God’s power. Apostle Paul said in Romans 1: 16

I refuse to be ashamed of sharing the wonderful message of God’s liberating power unleashed in us through Christ! For I am thrilled to preach that everyone who believes is saved—the Jew first, and then people everywhere!

The preaching of the gospel is what liberates the lives of people. The preaching of the gospel is the secret to the total freedom of people. The excellency of the knowledge of Christ informs you that you are blessed in Christ, without any performance. The blessing is not a reward for doing something but is your birthright. Born into the kingdom of God through Christ qualifies you to be blessed.

Every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm has already been lavished upon us as a love gift from our wonderful heavenly Father, the Father of our Lord Jesus—all because he sees us wrapped into Christ. This is why we celebrate him with all our hearts! Ephesians 1: 3

Esau lost the blessing because he despised his birthright. The blessing is tied to your birthright. And your birthright is in Christ Jesus, not in your doing good works. The excellency of the knowledge of Christ highlights that you are the salt of the earth. You do not need natural salt to protect you from the devils. You are enough salt in Christ to have your life preserved.

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Matthew 5: 13

Who you are in Christ is more powerful than the natural substances. Your real you, the spiritual you is higher than all substances put together. You are the salt of the earth.
