Anointing For Expansion

Anointing For Expansion

By Apostle Felix

6  Every time they were gathered together, they asked Jesus, “Lord, is it the time now for you to free Israel and restore our kingdom?”

7  He answered, “The Father is the one who sets the fixed dates and the times of their fulfilment. You are not permitted to know the timing of all that he has prepared by his own authority.

8  But I promise you this—the Holy Spirit will come upon you and you will be filled with power. And you will be my messengers to Jerusalem, throughout Judea, the distant provinces—even to the remotest places on earth!”

Acts 1: 6 – 8

The disciples initially viewed Jesus as a political emancipator. During this era, the Roman Empire ruled and colonized the Jewish people, who desperately looked forward to a Messiah who would liberate them from Roman oppression. They anticipated a warrior king like David, someone who would lead the nation of Israel into military victory over its enemies. Consequently, they never expected a Messiah who would die like a criminal, suffering the deeply shameful death of crucifixion. To the Jewish people, it was a profound disgrace for a purported Messiah to die like a cursed man, leaving the disciples utterly devastated and disappointed by their Master’s death on the cross.

However, the disciples and the Jewish nation had fundamentally misunderstood Jesus’ earthly mission. He did not come to establish a political form of Zionism, but rather to give eternal life to a spiritual nation of believers. Jesus was not a politician; He was the Savior. He came with a singular focus: to save humanity from sin. As the ultimate Seed of Abraham, He carried divine life within Himself for every single human being on earth. He was the grain of wheat that had to die to yield a harvest of salvation for all mankind. Ultimately, He did not come to kill to conquer, but to die to set people free. While King David killed others to occupy territory, Jesus died to occupy human hearts. He was the Seed.

24  Let me make this clear: A single grain of wheat will never be more than a single grain of wheat unless it drops into the ground and dies. Because then it sprouts and produces a great harvest of wheat—all because one grain died.

25  “The person who loves his life and pampers himself will miss true life! But the one who detaches his life from this world and abandons himself to me, will find true life and enjoy it forever!

John 12: 24, 25

The secret of growth and expansion ultimately lies in what a person is willing to surrender and sacrifice. If someone wants to achieve academic excellence, they m ust sacrifice immediate pleasures and dedicate extra time to studying. If the goal is building a successful business, one must delay self-indulgence and consistently invest time and capital into the enterprise. In the same way, the birth of the Church and the release of the anointing for its growth came at the ultimate cost of Jesus sacrificing His own life. He laid down His life so that many could come to God and be saved. The oil of spiritual expansion is always manifested through surrender and sacrifice.

What, then, are you willing to sacrifice and surrender to the Lord? In most cases, believers struggle to surrender their time and resources to God. Countless distractions compete for our attention and energy on a daily basis. Especially in our digital era, consistently committing time and resources to God has become a major challenge. However, prioritizing Him remains entirely possible, regardless of the pressures around us. Achieving this standard of faithful stewardship simply requires intentional self-discipline and self-control.
