An Overcoming Life 2

2  You need to know that God’s passion is burning inside me for you, because, like a loving father, I have pledged your hand in marriage to Christ, your true bridegroom. I’ve also promised that I would present his fiancée to him as a pure virgin bride.
3  But now I’m afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s clever lies, your thoughts may be corrupted and you may lose your single-hearted devotion and pure love for Christ.
4  For you seem to gladly tolerate anyone who comes to you preaching a pseudo-Jesus, not the Jesus we have preached. You have accepted a spirit and gospel that is false, rather than the Spirit and gospel you once embraced. How tolerant you have become of these imposters! 

2 Corinthians 11: 2 – 4

We reign in life through righteousness, which is right standing with God. The devil knows that when you are in right standing with God, you will have an overcoming life. The only way he can make a powerful believer powerless is to preach another gospel to you. Do not underestimate the destructive power that is in another gospel, which introduces a pseudo-Jesus to people. Unfortunately, the majority in the church community have fallen prey to this pseudo-gospel that has wrecked many people’s lives. This kind of gospel is for those with itching ears.

1  I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2  Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4  And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2 Timothy 4: 1 – 4

Madam Eve was deceived when she gave her ears to satan’s words. Eve and her husband, Adam, turned from the truth when she heeded the words of Satan. Adam and Eve were not defeated in a physical battle, but in their area of sound doctrine. Paul warned Timothy that a time will come when the people will not endure sound doctrine. And we are in that era. It is the doctrine that will bring about a great separation both in the church and the world. The rise of falsehood in the church is predicated on wrong teachings. And the wrong teachings perpetuate wrong spirits. Every wrong teaching introduces a spirit that is not of God. For the church to overcome the falsehood and all the wrong practices in the church today, the church needs to preach sound doctrine, as the Apostle Paul admonished Timothy.

3  And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
4  And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Luke 4: 3, 4

The devil tried the same trick on Jesus that he had on Adam and Eve. He came to Jesus with the same strategy to preach a false gospel that takes one from God’s reality to material reality. It is a gospel that is need-based. It is meant to meet people’s needs at the expense of their souls. We have seen philanthropic prophets, and many people have fallen for that. They judged the prophet to be a true man of God by his philanthropic prowess, disregarding his unbiblical and evil practices as testified by his victims. Jesus turned down the challenge because He knew very well who He was and the consequences of turning stones into bread. Who is Jesus today? The King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords. He overcame and seated at the right hand of God, the FATHER.
