An Heir With Christ
By Apostle Felix
16 For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!”
17 And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has. We will experience being co-glorified with him provided that we accept his sufferings as our own.Romans 8: 16, 17
Jesus Christ was born as the only begotten Son of God, but He became the first born of all creation upon His resurrection from the dead. He was the only begotten of the Father because He was the only one on earth who had dual natures, divinity and humanity. He was God, yet man. Prophet Isaiah described Him as Immanuel, God became one of us.
14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Isaiah 7: 14
God took the form man and decided to dwell amongst man. There was none of His kind while He was here on earth. He was the only one of His kind. He came as a prototype. This is the reason why He did not stop Peter to leave the boat and walk on water was because His main objective was to bring man into conformity with His image.
18 We can all draw close to him with the veil removed from our faces. And with no veil we all become like mirrors who brightly reflect the glory of the Lord Jesus. We are being transfigured into his very image as we move from one brighter level of glory to another. And this glorious transfiguration comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3: 18
Christ was the first born after the resurrection. He is not the first born as in the sense of been the first to be born. He is the first born in the context of been the prototype. Prototype means as an original model on which something is patterned. Therefore, Jesus is our model after whom we have been patterned. Jesus is the Son of God, and we too, have been patterned after the same. We have been made sons of God. We are heirs with Christ. An heir is a person legally entitled to the property or rank of another on that person’s death. Jesus died our death and rose with us in Him. We have therefore, become legally entitled to the inheritance in God.
17 And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has. We will experience being co-glorified with him provided that we accept his sufferings as our own.
Romans 8: 17
Since we are now the children of God, we qualify to share all His treasures. We are now partakers of His nature, and share in all the nature of God represents. God is righteous and holy, therefore we share in that nature. God is blessed, therefore we share in that nature, too. God is peace and joy, therefore we share in that nature. You cannot be an heir with Christ and then manifest a different from His. God is not schizophrenic. He does not suffer from a split mental disorder. God is one with His word and nature. He cannot be called the blessed One and then manifesting characteristics of a curse. That cannot be. That is your case, too. You have been made whole and complete. When He says you are blessed, believe it because that is true of who you really are. You are an heir with Christ.
