A Resurrected Life
By Apostle Felix
27 Every human being is appointed to die once, and then to face God’s judgment. 28 But when we die we will be face-to-face with Christ, the One who experienced death once for all to bear the sins of many! And now to those who eagerly await him, he will appear a second time; not to deal with sin, but to bring us the fullness of salvation. Hebrews 9: 27 – 28
Death has been a mystery to man, and something that stood as a hopeless pillar in his way. The fear of death has been man’s torment through all generations. It is a terrible enemy that even technological advancement has failed to overcome. It is an enemy every human being encounters. Man has common experiences, birth and death.
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; Ecclesiastes 3: 1, 2
Everyone born into this world has count down timer built in the individual. Of course, man has made drastic measures to slow down the timer but those efforts are not of much help. Man has ventured into scientific and medical exploits with the hope of finding to solutions to escaping death. But that too has failed. It has proved futile.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3: 8
Jesus was born just like anyone of us is born. He was subjected to the same conditions as man. He was born with a countdown timer built in Him. He was not born to come and live forever on earth. He was born to die. However, His purpose of dying like man was to resurrect from the dead, something man could not do. His death was very critical because it had serious implications. If Jesus did not resurrect from the dead, man was going to be doomed for ever.
But thank God that He rose from the dead and overcame death. His resurrection offers so much hope for everyone in a hopeless situation. Death, which is a separation from God resulting in physical death was a problem man could not undo all by himself. Jesus destroyed the devil and the power of death. Now you and I should not afraid of death because Christ has given us life and life more abundantly.
9 I am the Gateway. To enter through me is to experience life, freedom, and satisfaction. 10 A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect—life in its fullness until you overflow! 11 I am the Good Shepherd who lays down my life as a sacrifice for the sheep. John 10: 9 – 11
