Fear Not!

17  And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18  I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Revelation 1: 17, 18

Fear is humanity’s default setting, a completely natural reaction to an uncertain world. Yet, while feeling fear is entirely human, refusing to let it rule your life is supernatural. Experiencing fear is inevitable for everyone, regardless of status or strength; the game-changer is how we choose to respond. Consider the Apostle Peter: he was undoubtedly terrified when he asked to join Jesus on the stormy Sea of Galilee. Yet, against all logical odds, he defied his panic, stepped out of the boat, and walked on water. The Scriptures never command us to never feel fear; rather, they challenge us never to surrender to it. The goal is not an absence of emotion, but a determination to actively resist it.

9  For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:
10  And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.

Peter and his partners had fished through the grueling hours of the night, only to come back with absolutely nothing. This wasn’t just a moment of deep discouragement; it was a terrifying financial crisis. No fish meant no business, and no business meant no food for their families. When Jesus commanded them to launch out into the deep and drop their nets again, the instruction defied all human logic, magnifying the panic they were already fighting. Yet, despite their terror, they threw the nets overboard. To their absolute astonishment, they reeled in a history-making catch. They cast those nets while gripping their fear, choosing to stand entirely on the authority of Jesus’ words. Their emotions screamed that it was foolish, but they overrode their feelings to trust His voice. Ultimately, faith is never the absence of fear—it is the raw courage to look fear in the face and move forward on the Word of God anyway.

7  But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Luke 12: 7

Fear not, child of God, for the Creator of the universe is intimately with you. God is far more invested in your life and committed to your success than you could ever be. His love isn’t limited to securing your eternity in heaven; He is deeply passionate about establishing and blessing you right here on earth. He knows every minute detail of your existence, right down to the number of hairs on your head. From your marriage and family to your business, career, and spiritual walk, absolutely nothing escapes His care. When you invite Him into the center of your circumstances, everything falls into its proper place. Refuse to let fear hold the reins of your life, and allow His presence to guide you forward.
